I got to OKC and checked in at the airport and found out that my connecting flight to O’Hare wasn’t running due to whatever technical difficulties an air traffic control center can have, so they re-routed me to Dallas, where I waited a few hours for a connecting flight to effing Newark that got in at 1am.

Suffice it to say, part of me is really happy to be home – sleeping in my own bed for the first time in weeks was insane. I even woke up and had a telephone job interview from my bed. Awesome. Still, I already miss traveling everyday, and getting to know my friends better and seeing the country with them. They will be out for another week or so, and get to see Texas (wooo?) and Las Vegas… and Utah!

Anyway, Bess took this video back in South Dakota. Hopefully she will post more things soon so I can leech off of her blog for my blog!

Tour: Day Twelve/Thirteen

Well, it’s my last night on tour. I am in a bar in Kansas City, Missouri. It has been a really insane two weeks. I have a few pictures that I need to upload of a ferocious Omaha sky last night, but until I do, here are some camera phone pictures.

Tour: Day Ten/Eleven

My time on tour is coming to a close. I have three more days, and then I will fly home out of Oklahoma City. Tonight we are at Nutty’s in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (whaaaaaaat!). There have apparently been tons of tornadoes, but we have seen/been killed by none of them! Crazy. Here are some more pictures of the past few days.

Tour: Day Eight/Nine

Ohhhhh man. Ok.

1) Nashville, TN provided the most humid 92ยบ I could ever ask for.

2) Kentucky has earned “least favorite state” in my book of Rachel’s Least Favorite Things. Cracker Barrel has earned “fattest restaurant-cafeteria-country store in America”.

3) I just smoked with MC out of an apple before I had to go sell merch. Then he chastised me for taking benzodiazepines right when I felt a panic coming on! I think the point is that he is a really great guy?

4) I am in DeKalb, Illinois, which is right next to Aurora, which is where WAYNE’S WORLD TAKES PLACE.

5) I have a few more pictures and I actually really like some of them but I am too lazy to upload, edit and upload them to this site tonight. Plus, Bess has started taking pictures and movies all the time, so I kind of stopped.

6) Indianapolis: No Thank You

7) I am now terrified to go home. Oh, awesome!

Tour: Day Seven

Guess what! Nashville, Tennessee is REALLY HUMID! We are at the Exit/In and forgot that there was a time zone change on the way here, so we arrived really early. There is a “life size” model of the Parthenon a few blocks from here that was pretty interesting. Bess got a camera today and took a lot of videos and I hope she posts them soooooon. Oh wait, she just did. Here is one:

I am reading Skinny Legs and All by Tom Robbins and it is craaazyyyyyyy.

More Tour: Day Four-Five-Six

Ok, so far we have driven from New York to Vermont, back through Massachusetts to Albany, New York down to Maryland, and today we arrived in Columbus, Ohio. Bess flew into Baltimore yesterday so the band is all back together. I took tonight off from merch selling and checked into a hotel and slept like craaaazy. So here are some more pictures! And video, too!

Tour: Day Two/Three

We are all really tired and I think I already have food poisoning but it’s been fun so far. I will post pictures and videos tomorrow. We are in a Super 8 in Albany. Northampton was really nice – Ian, Jay, Emily, Mom and Robin all came to the show! And today Saul, Andrew, Chris and I went to see the new Indiana Jones before the show. It wasn’t THAT bad but I did eat a 50 pack of Skittles which I think is why I am so ill right now. OOPS!

Tour: Night One

Tonight we played at the Higher Ground Lounge in South Burlington, VT. It was a good first night. There was a lot of free food and people in Vermont are much nicer than people in New York.
